Co-founded by Jamie Thomas and Sara Jones in 2014, Wayapa Wuurrk® means “Connect to the Earth” in the language of the Maara & GunaiKurnai Peoples respectively. Living in harmony with their environment is what sustained Australian Aboriginal people to be the world’s oldest, continuous living culture for tens of thousands of years!
Today, for most of us, we have become disconnected from our environment, from our tribe, from our food and from our Spirit. Through a combination of Earth mindfulness, narrative meditation, a mindful movement practice based around 14 elements that we are connected with in nature, and taking action to look after the planet, Wayapa provides a sense of belonging to the Earth while creating holistic wellbeing.
Wayapa is for all Earth people who would like to explore a deeper sense of belonging and connectedness to the Earth, to each other and to their natural selves, and to learn to become better custodians of the Earth for future generations. We are all indigenous to the Earth. Some of us just need reminding, and to be guided to slow down and mindfully rediscover that connection which is our birthright.
